JEWERS, Stephen W. At The Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, January 22, 2007, of Mr. Stephen W. Jewers of Belvedere Avenue, Charlottetown, and formerly of Halifax, Nova Scotia, aged 53 years. Dear father of Stephanie and Angela Jewers, both of Halifax. Stephen will also be sadly missed, but fondly remembered, by his grandchildren, Ashton, Skyler, Jaydon, his father, Aubrey (Ellen) and his mother, Freda (Cormier) Jewers of Halifax, brothers David (Laura) Jewers, Paul (Debbie) Jewers of Toronto, Ontario, Peter (Anne) Jewers of Halifax, and his sister, Nancy (Blair) Oakley of Amherst, N.S. Resting at The Charlottetown Funeral Home, 33/35 Longworth Avenue. No visitation by personal request. A public funeral mass will be celebrated at The Church of the Most Holy Redeemer on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Interment to take place at a later date in Joggins, Nova Scotia. JEWERS, Stephen William

Stephen William Jewers passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, on January 22, 2007, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Surviving are two daughters, Stephanie (Adam) and Angela (David) of Halifax; three grandsons, Ashton, Skyler and Jaydon of Halifax; mother, Freda Jewers (Cormier) of Halifax; father, Aubrey (Ellen) Jewers of Halifax; and three brothers, David (Laura), Paul (Debbie), of Ontario, Peter (Anne) of Halifax; one sister, Nancy (Blair) of Amherst; one half-sister, Christine (Wilson); ex-wife and long time friend, Della Jewers; partner, Ruth Freeman of Charlottetown; special friends, Jeanette and Aurther Coffin of Charlottetown; and best pal, Bella. Stephen was a newcomer to Charlottetown, but upon his arrival he fell in love with the town and its people. He spent his last summer touring P.E.I. with his partner, Ruth, and taking in its many treasures. Stephen was also a lover of the outdoors and all animal life. In his last year he volunteered as a “cat petter” for the Charlottetown Humane Society. Stephen will be forever remembered by those who loved him as humorous, adventurous, thoughtful and family oriented. The family is asking that donations be made in Stephen’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Humane Society of P.E.I.
